How to join THE Women of F.I.R.E., INC.:

During the first quarter (January to March) of every year, Women of FIRE accepts applications for Affiliate Membership. During this time, you may complete an application form and a representative from our Board of Directors will be in touch with you within 7-10 business days upon receipt to arrange an interview at your convenience. (preferably in person, phone interview exceptions may be made) .

 

Before sending in an application, we ask that you carefully read this page, and learn more ABOUT FIRE and FIRE PROJECTS to familiarize yourself with what we do.

 

Responsibilities of an Affiliate Woman of F.I.R.E.:

• actively support F.I.R.E. events & foster the growth of the organization
• join at least one F.I.R.E. committee
• support F.I.R.E. through PR, ticket sales, fundraising
• attend annual meeting
• attend "called" F.I.R.E. meetings - no more than once a quarter,
  and no less than once a year.
• attend & participate in F.I.R.E. quarterly events/fundraisers
  (at least one major F.I.R.E. event per year if you are out-of-state)
• one-time membership fee of $50 (includes annual fees for first year)
• pay annual fees of $25 every January

We are looking for new members who believe in enriching their lives and the lives of others, including the less fortunate. We understand everyone works and has other commitments, however, we seek members who want to commit to F.I.R.E., and are willing and able to give some of their time to the work we do as an organization. Please note that at this time, while we may form partnerships with other organizations, Affiliate F.I.R.E. members can not establish a separate state chapter without the approval of F.I.R.E.’s Board of Directors.

 

F.I.R.E. also has several committees which work to plan events, do publicity, seek fundraising

opportunities, apply for grants, etc. Each member is required to serve on at least one committee.

In a nutshell, F.I.R.E. is an extraordinary organization looking for extraordinary women who

have some extra time to do ordinary things. We are a growing team and in seeking new members,

we hope to build a sisterhood with other women of the Diaspora and work collectively to make

a difference in our community, one step at a time.
