-
Friends Integrated for
Remarkable Excellence, a humanitarian organization of Liberian
women, was founded in August of 2002 and is a registered non-profit
corporation in the state of Georgia. The Women of FIRE, Inc. is organized
exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3)
of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and is legally recognized as such.
FIRE’s primary purpose is to offer assistance to grassroots entities serving
the underprivileged in Liberia, with a particular focus on women and
children.
FIRE was organized in response to the overwhelming need for humanitarian
assistance in Liberia, a country recovering from 14 years of civil strife.
Our organization is currently operated with 100% volunteer effort, our
membership being comprised of Liberian women who share a passion for
charitable efforts and our heritage. Collectively, we give of our time and
energy to support organizations that offer assistance to the needy in
Liberia, as we believe such efforts will positively impact our community and
country. Our members actively commit resources and talents to raising funds
in order to achieve FIRE’s goals. In addition to soliciting donations and
grants, we host local fundraisers in the Atlanta area.
Women of F.I.R.E., Inc. Mission:
We
stand to encourage individual growth, outstanding progress and to promote
excellence as a group through envisioning, strengthening, developing and

We believe that by encouraging the individual growth of children in Liberia,
we will foster in them a sense of self-worth and instill the belief in the
greater good and a better society. We also stand for excellence and promote
progress wherever we can, in order to create opportunities for children,
women and men to better themselves, their communities and their nation
through education.
